Field Engineer - Atlanta, GA

Purpose of position
Act as customer service technician for Miura representatives and customers for the Maintenance Department. Service, inspect and repair Miura boiler room equipment. Schedule boiler start-up and inspections. Maintain and manage parts inventory in stock room or service vehicles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs assigned maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on boiler electrical, mechanical, chemical and combustion systems.
  • Complete and submit required reports originated from customer visits for management review and customer boiler history.
  • Interact and discuss with customers to maintain good customer relations.
  • Coordinate with Sales Department for boiler “Pre-Start Up” inspections.
  • Performs boiler room start ups and inspections.
  • Maintain customer profiles and history of maintenance.
  • Performs chemical testing on boiler room equipment water. Analyze chemistry trends and adjust as required.
  • Assesses and identify scale, corrosion and boiler tube issues.
  • Create proposals for chemical sales and parts for customer site improvements or repairs.
  • Provide Miura representatives or customers training on proper boiler system or boiler operation, safety and correct water treatment procedures.
  • Coordinate the company vehicle to ensure it is in safe working conditions at all times.
  • Maintain and organize parts inventory in stock room and in service vehicle. Performs monthly physical inventory check. Research and resolve inventory item discrepancies
  • Maintain all assigned tools and testing equipment, ensuring all are in good condition per manufacturer’s recommendation or state codes.
  • Maintain knowledge of, observe and practice appropriate procedures in regards to Safety, Quality and environmental standards. Follow all safety and OSHA policies and guidelines.
  • Perform lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Follow good work practices by keeping work area safe, organized and clean.
  • Follow company policy and procedures.
  • Attend team meetings and training.
  • Perform inspections, repair, troubleshooting in boiler rooms.
  • Perform some sales activities to promote Miura products and services.
  • Overnight travel: 25- 35%.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
Position Requirements
  • General knowledge of commercial steam, industrial mechanical, and/or boiler industry.
  • General knowledge of Mechanical, electrical and chemical.
  • Reading and understanding wiring diagrams.
  • General knowledge of overall steam system flow and controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels in an organization.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency at creating reports using Microsoft Office or equivalent is a must.
  • Business oriented mindset and professional attitude.
  • Ability to self manage time and customer maintenance.
  • Ability to work well with clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team.
  • Hands-on oriented.
  • Experience with hand tools.
  • Available in flexible hours.
  • Possession of a valid automobile-driving license.
  • Available to travel multiple hours each day to reach customer’s destination.
